Day 7 - Mid Term Pitches

The jury members giving suggestions for improvement
Yesterday our teams worked very hard until late at night because of the mid term pitches today. Each team has to present their ideas in front of our board members Klaus Sailer, Andy Goldstein, Bernhard Katzy and Helmut Schönenberger.

Everybody is looking forward to it but of course all of them are also nervous: Is our product innovative enough? What does the board think about our work? Do we have a good pitch? The time is short and our participants are putting lots of effort into their projects.

Neha from India presenting the business model
After little sleep last night they are working since the early morning on improving their presentation and products. Everybody wants to convince the board members of their innovations. There are only 2 days left until the finals.

Our team of the day is 'Californication'. Simon and Deborah from Germany, Adel from the Dominican Republic, Arthur from Latvia and Mariem from Tunisia are working on reducing food waste. They found out that 65% of the food waste is produced by the households.

The team invented the so called 'freshr'. This is a smart food box for the fridge. It realizes what is inside and sends information to an app or a stylish WIFI box next to the fridge. It makes the organization of food buying easier and tells the consumer exactly on which level of the fridge to put the fruit box, the meat box and the veggie box so that they have an extended shelf-life.
